The clock is ticking and the time to Dreamforce is just around the 2-week corner. It’s our due diligence to provide recommendations for some of the sessions we feel first-time attendees and emerging Trailblazers would benefit the most. These individuals are new to the ecosystem and have an opportunity to attend this incredible event for the first time. Perhaps they’ve heard the hype and would like to experience it for themselves so they are willing to invest, in themselves, to get ahead of the game. As you begin to fill up the calendar keep these considerations in mind.
Remember that some sessions may conflict with others so, have a plan A, B, or C ready to implement. Let’s take a look at some of the sessions we’ve discovered so far.
In any industry, learning and knowing how to network with others can become a superpower. Some are naturally born with it while others require work to shine and become better. In this session you’ll get a chance to listen to Tristan Lombard, a self-employed consultant, who is willing to share the skills it takes to network virtually or in-person to future-proof a career in Salesforce.
The 20-minute session takes place on Thursday, Sep 19th at 10:00 am in Moscone West
If you are not comfortable with networking with others in the past you will need to consider it, within the Salesforce ecosystem, to excel and find new opportunities to grow. Many people shine in this industry by creating new connections and relationships.
Networking happens in all industries but to get ahead of the curve you must understand that networking with industry A is not the same as industry E. Different tones, dialects, body languages, and other traits take flight between industries so what better way to understand them, than in-person?
If you feel confident and comfortable already with your Net-Fu then use this opportunity to spend 20 minutes, of your time, to see if you can learn something new.
Whether it’s school or a previous job at one point you had to create a presentation and present it in front of your classmates, teachers, or coworkers. Well… in the Salesforce ecosystem, these presentations become opportunities for you to “Speak” to others about your findings, achievements, and understanding of a product or service. In this session you’ll get a chance to listen to Janet Elliott, a solution Architect at Kicksaw, that provides the necessary steps to begin a journey to become a successful Salesforce speaker.
The 20-minute session takes place on Thursday, Sep 19th at 9:00 am in Moscone West
If you are looking for a way to make yourself stand out then this is it. Speaker opportunities come in the form of virtual or in-person and between Webinars, Community Conferences, Salesforce Conferences, or Product Demos there are many ways to apply to be considered.
You don’t have to be an expert, leverage resources like these to get started. I’ve had the chance to listen to this particular session a few years back and let me tell you it was an eye-opener. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to consider speaking at a Salesforce event.
Every industry requires the use of apps, products, or systems to communicate around the clock. Since Salesforce acquired Slack, back in July 2021, it has grown to become the primary communication resource. This session you’ll listen to Jippy Pang, and Elaine Schwartz break down some of the key Slack features and various ways to transform how you work when using this app. There are two slots for this session so far, with limited seating make sure to slot one in before they get filled up.
The first one is a 20-minute session that takes place on Tuesday, Sep 17th at 8:30 am in Moscone West
The second one is a 20-minute session that takes place on Thursday, Sep 19th at 1:00 pm in Moscone West
Whether you like to watch a tutorial intro or an in-depth video being able to talk to someone in person has a sense of satisfaction that cannot be described. Since, you will use Slack in some way, shape, or form what better way to learn more than attending sessions like these and having a chance to speak to an expert?
Imagine how much you can learn by speaking to those attending this session, especially when they may have a similar interest to yours.
The bottom line is you came to learn about Salesforce. No matter the product or service route you’ve decided to take or have landed on, you’ll need to become acquainted with the product, at some point. Just like any other industry, Salesforce includes various product lines which can feel confusing for someone new or is like “What is Salesforce”. Take advantage to listen to other Trailblazers share their story and what they have learned. This session you’ll listen to Andrew Russo, and Carolyn Hanuschek provide some tools and resources to help you learn Salesforce to advance your understanding of this platform.
The 20-minute session takes place on Thursday, Sep 19th at 11:30 am in Moscone West
Understanding the fundamentals of the platform helps paint a picture to better see things from one perspective. Everyone tells a story from a different perspective, so these types of sessions help you see things from another perspective. As you begin your journey in this industry, you will need to find more ways to learn the platform for your job duties and responsibilities.
Since this platform adjusts, at least three times a year, to accommodate the latest changes and trends in the industries you will soon learn that staying up to date will be an uphill battle. Leverage sessions, like these, to find new methods to keep you in the loop of changes coming your way that may impact the way you’ll work.
This event lasts for three days with a few days before and afterwards for extracurricular activities. Your time is limited and valuable for each day you are part of this event. At the same time, your body will let you know when it needs to eat and some much-needed rest. Find the time to take a look around and absorb the surroundings because Salesforce does a great job of putting together some great decor and activities during each day. Make sure to go over the sessions catalog to see what else catches your attention. If there is something you’d recommend for first-timers let us know in the comments below.
Until next time keep working hard, smart, and happy. And we’ll see you in the cloud!
