In today’s episode of “Q & A with Matt K!”, Matt tackles a question from Laetitia in the Salesforce Trailblazer Community about sorting order products when manually creating an Order.
Here’s the Full Question:
“Sort order on Order Product
Hi, In my org orders are created in two ways — through quotes or manually.
I can sort the quote line items in the Quote and keep this order when converting the quote into an order using flow.
When creating orders directly i.e. manually, I can’t find how to sort the order products. I do not want to sort the order by name or other criteria. I want to be able to have product A in 1st place and product B in second place. But if I add product C at a later time, I want to be able to slot it between products A and B therefore the order of the order products will be:
This is within a standard Sales Cloud configuration (not CPQ). I am happy to consider AppExchange products but have not found any so far.”

Ultimately, the solution was creating a custom field and editing 2 Page Layouts!
